The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking ingredients according to standardized recipes and production specifications within a food manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality, safety, and consistency of products, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety regulations and operational standards.
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization:
 
  • Prepares and cooks ingredients in accordance with production work orders, standardized recipes, and batch requirements.
  • Follows all safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and adherence to food safety standards (HACCP, GMPs, etc.).
  • Accurately completes all required documentation, including HACCP logs, production forms, and quality control checklists.
  • Safely lifts and transfers ingredients weighing up to 50 lbs. to elevated platforms as part of batch preparation.
  • Identifies and reports any product quality issues or deviations from standards to the Supervisor or Quality Assurance personnel immediately.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with company hygiene and sanitation protocols.
  • Properly handles and disposes of waste materials and by-products.
  • Operates kitchen and processing equipment efficiently and safely, in alignment with training and operational procedures.
  • Supports a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in team meetings, safety briefings, and training sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet production needs.
