Overview:
The Cook is responsible for the daily preparation, cooking, and plating of all food orders in an efficient, safe, and attractive manner.
This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00-$15.00

This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive, respectful attitude at all times
- Perform food preparation duties when needed
- Check food for quality and presentation before serving
- Ensure food is handled in a sanitary manner
- Set up stations according to restaurant guidelines
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by OVG. All food items must be prepared according to the menu build
- Restock all items as needed throughout shift
- Clean/maintain station by practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills
- Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
- Ensure proper temperatures are maintained on cooking and refrigeration equipment
- Communicate effectively with the Expeditor
- Awareness of food allergies and possible areas of cross-contamination
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings
- Additional tasks as assigned by management
- Work together as a team
- Perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength, including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, and handling of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a line cook, fast-paced restaurant cook, or prep cook preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, management staff, volunteers and guests
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, some holidays, and long hours
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength, including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, and handling of materials.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
