Position Overview:

The Cook prepares menu items and supports daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role focuses on food preparation, cooking, maintaining food quality, and following food safety procedures. Cooks work closely with the kitchen team to keep work areas clean and organized while ensuring meals are prepared consistently. Candidates should be prepared for the demanding pace of restaurant service, including busy game days and peak dining periods, and must be willing to support the team wherever needed.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items while maintaining food quality and consistency.
• Perform food preparation tasks, including slicing, dicing, grilling, frying, and sauce preparation.
• Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen work area.
• Work efficiently with kitchen team members during busy service periods.
• Multitask and prioritize food preparation tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow food quality, cleanliness, and safety standards throughout each shift.
• Assist team members as needed to support daily kitchen operations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent kitchen or food preparation experience required.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, commercial kitchen, food service, or another fast-paced environment required.
• Experience with food preparation, cooking, grilling, frying, slicing, dicing, and sauce preparation.
• Food Handler Certificate preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and food safety procedures.
• Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a demanding, high-energy kitchen environment, stand for extended periods, perform physical kitchen tasks, and maintain a clean and safe work area.

 

Pay Range: USD $17.50 - USD $18.50 /Hr.
