Per-Diem Line Cook

Sandy Pines Residential Treatment Center is a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is in beautiful South Florida, nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson State Park and just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. We are the largest treatment center of its kind in the southeast and host River Bend Academy, an accredited school on our campus.

Sandy Pines is looking to bring on a new team member to join our family. We are currently seeking an experienced per-diem line cook. Must have knowledge of basic culinary fundamentals, operational policies and procedures including a working knowledge of all equipment in the kitchen that applies to their daily task. The line cook is responsible for preparing and producing a high quality of food and must have a strong working knowledge of all line recipes, reporting directly to the Director of Dietary.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of previous cooking experience preferred.
  • ServSafe Certified.
  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Candidate should be able to perform all basic cooking skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Use all proper sanitation procedures and equipment safety options.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen line areas including all walk-in and dry storage areas.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Answer, report and follow directors instructions.
  • Clean up station.
  • Stock inventory appropriately.
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Communicate any issues or obstacles to management in a timely professional manner.
  • Report to work on time in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.
