Lorien Mays Chapel is seeking a dependable, energetic, and compassionate Dietary Cook to join our healthcare dining services team in Timonium, Maryland. We are looking for a cheerful and enthusiastic cook who is eager to learn new cooking techniques, support resident wellness, and help deliver exceptional dining experiences in a senior living environment.

As a Dietary Cook, you will play an important role in preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions, food safety standards, and healthcare regulations.

Pay & Compensation

• Starting at $16.00 per hour
• Same-Day Pay available for all employees

Responsibilities:

 

• High School diploma or GED, a plus
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Serve Safe Certification, a plus
• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
• Follow physician-ordered diets, therapeutic diets, and nutritional requirements
• Ensure proper food preparation, portion control, and meal presentation
• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards in compliance with health regulations
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with meal service for residents in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and assisted living settings
• Monitor food quality, temperatures, and storage procedures
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing teams, and leadership
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

 

Qualifications:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience as a cook, dietary cook, line cook, prep cook, or food service worker preferred
• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, hospital, or senior living dining services is a plus
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 25–50 pounds as part of daily job responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule & Availability

• Part-Time Hour
• 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• Every other weekend availability (Saturday & Sunday)
