Kelly Services is hiring Core & Coil Assemblers for a hands-on manufacturing opportunity in Waukesha, WI.

If you enjoy mechanical assembly, working with tools, reading blueprints, and building large industrial equipment, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

You’ll help build the internal components used in large electrical transformers, working with steel laminations, large copper coils, hydraulic equipment, overhead cranes, and precision tools in a modern manufacturing environment.

This is not small-parts bench assembly. It’s a hands-on, heavy mechanical assembly role for someone who likes seeing a large piece of equipment come together through their work.

Location: Waukesha, WI
Pay:$32.71 per hour

Available Shifts:

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM

Overtime: Minimal

What You'll Be Doing

As a Core & Coil Assembler, you’ll help build the internal structure of large electrical transformers from the ground up.

Your day may include:

  • Building large internal transformer components through hands-on mechanical assembly

  • Carefully stacking and positioning core steel laminations

  • Installing and positioning large copper coils

  • Using overhead cranes to safely lift and move heavy components

  • Operating hydraulic pressing equipment

  • Using torque wrenches, hand tools, wire cutters, crimpers, and other production tools

  • Reading and following blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and bills of material

  • Measuring, positioning, and securing components to meet production requirements

  • Operating forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles when required

  • Following detailed cleanliness and contamination-control procedures

  • Inspecting your work and maintaining high quality standards throughout the build

  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas using 5S practices

  • Working with production, quality, engineering, and planning teams

  • Helping train or support newer operators as your experience grows

  • Following established safety procedures and wearing required PPE

What We're Looking For

This could be a strong fit if you have experience in:

  • Heavy mechanical assembly

  • Industrial or manufacturing assembly

  • Electrical or electromechanical assembly

  • Transformer or power-equipment manufacturing

  • Machine building

  • Large equipment assembly

  • Fabrication or other hands-on industrial environments

We’re especially interested in candidates who:

  • Have strong mechanical aptitude

  • Are comfortable working with hand and power tools

  • Can read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications

  • Are comfortable using or learning overhead cranes and hydraulic equipment

  • Have strong attention to detail

  • Can follow precise assembly procedures

  • Take safety seriously in a large manufacturing environment

  • Are comfortable performing active, physical work throughout the shift

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Physical Work Environment

This is an active industrial assembly position. Candidates should be comfortable:

  • Standing and walking throughout the shift

  • Bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling

  • Climbing as required

  • Working around large industrial equipment

  • Working at heights when necessary

  • Handling and positioning large components with the assistance of cranes and other material-handling equipment

  • Wearing required PPE and following strict safety procedures
