Corporate Accountant A large, publicly traded organization headquartered in Charlotte is adding a Corporate Accountant to its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who has built a strong foundation and is ready to gain broader exposure within a complex corporate environment. As an addition to the team, this position will work across a variety of corporate and shared-services accounting activities while developing a deeper understanding of the complete accounting and financial reporting cycle. What You'll Do
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across assigned corporate accounting areas
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
Maintain general ledger accounts and investigate unusual activity, discrepancies, and account variances
Gain exposure across multiple areas of corporate accounting rather than being limited to one narrow function
Support accounting activities involving areas such as accruals, prepaids, allocations, intercompany activity, and other balance sheet accounts
Analyze account activity and help identify the underlying drivers behind changes and variances
Assist with monthly financial and management reporting
Support internal control and financial reporting requirements within a public-company environment
Assist with external audit requests and supporting documentation
Work with accounting and finance partners across the organization to research and resolve accounting issues
Participate in process improvements designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
Take on additional accounting responsibilities as your knowledge and experience grow
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Approximately 1 3 years of accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience
Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and U.S. GAAP
Exposure to month-end close, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and/or account reconciliations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working with financial data and researching discrepancies
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work
Highly Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Public accounting experience
Experience within a large corporate or publicly traded environment
CPA, CPA candidate, or interest in pursuing CPA certification
Experience with ERP, consolidation, or account reconciliation systems
Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, and formulas
