Role Summary
The Corporate Accounting Manager will join a lean, high visibility corporate accounting team and oversee several complex technical accounting areas while supporting broader controllership initiatives. Reporting to senior accounting leadership, this individual will manage one team member and partner closely with Treasury, FP&A, and other finance functions.
This role is ideal for a progressive accounting professional who enjoys technical accounting, leadership, and working across multiple areas rather than operating within a narrow specialty. The position offers exposure to ASC 842 lease accounting, equity compensation, restructuring activities, internally developed software, reserves, US GAAP, SOX compliance, and corporate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Own global lease accounting activities under ASC 842, including controls, reporting, and compliance
Oversee accounting and reporting related to stock based compensation and other equity transactions
Manage restructuring accounting activities, control testing, supporting schedules, and financial statement disclosures
Review accounting for internally developed software and technology related transactions
Ensure assigned accounting areas comply with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and established internal controls
Support analysis and financial reporting for complex reserves and other balance sheet matters
Manage and develop one direct report while providing technical guidance and review
Partner with Treasury, FP&A, controllership, and other finance leaders on corporate accounting initiatives
Key Requirements
Progressive corporate accounting experience with demonstrated growth into management or leadership responsibilities
Strong technical accounting knowledge with hands on experience applying US GAAP
Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting, stock based compensation, equity accounting, software capitalization, or similarly complex accounting areas
Strong understanding of SOX compliance, internal controls, financial reporting, and control testing
Experience managing, supervising, or developing accounting professionals
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze complex financial information
Strong analytical and technical problem solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to partner across accounting and finance functions
Preferred Skills
CPA certification
Combination of Big 4 or public accounting and progressive industry experience
Experience working within a large, complex corporate environment
Manufacturing or similarly complex operational accounting experience
Experience supporting organizational transformation or separation initiatives
Experience with restructuring accounting and financial statement disclosures
Exposure to complex reserve accounting and actuarial supported estimates
Aspiration to continue progressing into broader finance and accounting leadership
