Location: Denver Tech Center
Compensation: $140-180k (DOE) + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Position Overview

Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a well-established and growing construction and infrastructure organization to identify a Corporate Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for leading the company's corporate accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls and accounting processes.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Corporate Accounting Manager will oversee general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close processes, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting support. The individual will also provide leadership and mentorship to a team that includes a Corporate Accountant and Project Accountants.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, enjoys developing people, and takes pride in producing accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Manage the organization's general ledger and ensure the integrity of all financial transactions.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, allocations, and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain supporting schedules for key balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages.

Reconciliations & Cash Management

  • Oversee all bank account reconciliations and treasury-related accounting activities.
  • Ensure timely resolution of reconciling items and outstanding transactions.
  • Monitor cash activity and support cash flow reporting and forecasting efforts.
  • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.

Fixed Assets

  • Manage the company's fixed asset accounting function, including:
    • Asset capitalization
    • Depreciation calculations
    • Asset disposals and transfers
    • Fixed asset reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset records and support capital project accounting.
  • Partner with operations and equipment teams regarding asset purchases, inventory, and utilization.

Construction & Project Accounting Support

  • Provide accounting guidance and oversight to Project Accountants.
  • Support project accounting activities including cost tracking, job cost reporting, work-in-progress analysis, and project closeout.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of accounting practices across projects and business units.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve financial visibility and reporting.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Directly supervise and develop the Corporate Accountant and Project Accounting team.
  • Establish workflows, priorities, and accountability measures for the accounting department.
  • Mentor staff and support ongoing professional development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Support annual audits and coordinate requests from external auditors.
  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
  • Assist with implementation of process improvements and accounting system enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • General ledger accounting
    • Financial statement preparation
    • Month-end close
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Fixed asset accounting
    • Internal controls
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred

  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Construction, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with job costing and project accounting.
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems used within construction environments.
