Help shape the future of global connectivity.

Amazon Leo is building a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites designed to deliver low-latency, high-speed broadband access to underserved and unserved communities around the world. Amazon Leo is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to support strategic commercial customer agreements, technology transactions, and commercial engagements that help power this global connectivity mission.

As Commercial Counsel, you will negotiate and structure complex commercial transactions that support Amazon Leo's growing portfolio of enterprise customers, channel partners, and mobility-related engagements. You will work closely with business, product, and operations teams on high-impact agreements that shape Amazon Leo's commercial strategy.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of satellite technology, telecommunications, emerging technology, and sophisticated commercial transactions within one of Amazon's most ambitious innovation initiatives.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Some domestic and international travel will be required.

Why This Role

  • Work on high-impact commercial customer agreements supporting Amazon Leo
  • Negotiate strategic commercial partnerships that help expand global internet access
  • Operate at the intersection of satellite technology, telecommunications, and emerging technology
  • Help shape the commercial foundation of a rapidly growing global connectivity business

Key job responsibilities

  • Draft and lead negotiations for strategic enterprise agreements, commercial transactions, technology partnerships, and channel partner agreements supporting Amazon Leo's global connectivity business, with a focus on mobility engagements
  • Advise business teams on legal, commercial, operational, and strategic considerations associated with large-scale customer and partnership engagements
  • Develop practical and scalable legal frameworks that enable rapid business growth while appropriately managing organizational risk
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, business development, operations, and compliance to support evolving commercial models and international expansion initiatives
  • Help build efficient legal processes that support fast-moving technology and infrastructure businesses

A day in the life

Your day will combine strategic commercial counseling, sophisticated transaction negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work directly with business leaders and partner teams to structure enterprise agreements, support complex customer and channel partner negotiations, and advise on emerging commercial and operational issues tied to satellite connectivity and global infrastructure expansion.

About the team

Amazon Leo's legal team is a collaborative group of commercial and technology attorneys supporting the development and expansion of next-generation satellite connectivity solutions. The team works closely with business leaders, engineers, product teams, and global partners to navigate complex legal and commercial challenges while enabling innovation at global scale.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
