Job Details
As Corporate Counsel (P&C), you’ll support a growing insurance business and work directly with the leaders who make day-to-day decisions. The work runs from high-volume contracts like NDAs to more complex carrier, MGA/MGU, and regulatory matters. You’ll have room to take ownership, build relationships, and become the go-to legal resource for the teams you support.
This role suits an attorney who understands how the P&C insurance business works and can turn legal analysis into practical guidance. Experience with carriers, MGAs/MGUs, brokers, or related insurance businesses is especially valuable. Business-side insurance experience is also welcome.
What You’ll Do
Draft, review, and negotiate carrier agreements, MGA/MGU and program administrator agreements, client service agreements, NDAs, and other commercial contracts
Advise business teams on P&C operations, regulatory matters, risk management, and contract issues
Spot meaningful legal and business risks in carrier and client agreements and recommend practical solutions
Support MGA/MGU operations and carrier relationships as business needs and regulations change
Partner with business leaders to understand their goals and give timely, business-focused legal guidance
Handle routine agreements efficiently and recognize when an issue needs deeper analysis or escalation
Work across legal and business teams to gather information and resolve issues
Track P&C regulatory developments and help the business respond to them
Contribute to legal team initiatives and share knowledge across the organization
What You Bring
JD from an accredited law school and an active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
5+ years of legal experience in the property and casualty insurance industry
Experience with an insurance carrier, MGA/MGU, broker, regulatory agency, or insurance-focused law practice
Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
Solid understanding of P&C operations and how carriers, brokers, and intermediaries work together
Ability to turn legal and business risks into clear, practical recommendations
Ability to manage priorities independently, follow through, and seek out information when needed
Communication skills that build credibility with legal colleagues and business partners
