Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Correctional Health float pool position requiring prior corrections nursing experience and a California RN license.

Details

• Float pool position within a correctional health setting
• Night shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 23:00 to 7:30
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with prior corrections experience required
• Urgent care, ER, or behavioral health experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oral suctioning
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience with wound care and wound vac management
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric care and substance withdrawal management
