    Job Description

Day in the Life: Corrugated Converting Operator

You start your shift with a job ticket in hand and a plan in mind. After a quick equipment check, you load tooling and bring the line up to speed. By mid-morning, rotary die cutters and flexo folder-gluers are humming, sheets are feeding true, and registration is dialed in. You keep an eye on run speed, waste, and quality checkpoints—making on-the-fly adjustments so boxes ship exactly to spec. When something’s off, you troubleshoot fast, swap worn parts, and keep production moving safely.

    What You'll Do

    • Set, operate, and change over corrugated converting equipment, including rotary die cutters, flexo folder-gluers, and box makers.
    • Install dies, plates, and related tooling to match job specifications and ticket details.
    • Adjust machine parameters—speed, pressure, and feed alignment—to maintain throughput and product quality.
    • Continuously monitor production runs, responding quickly to alignment or registration issues.

    Quality—Built In, Not Inspected In

    • Inspect finished pieces for accuracy, alignment, score depth, cut quality, and print fidelity.
    • Verify measurements, scoring, cutting, and printing against customer specifications.
    • Identify defects and make real-time corrections to eliminate root causes.
    • Document production and in-process quality checks clearly and completely.

    Keep It Running

    • Perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.
    • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues methodically to restore performance.
    • Replace consumables and wear parts (blades, belts, dies) as needed.
    • Escalate and coordinate major repairs with maintenance personnel.

    Safety First, Always

    • Follow all safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
    • Wear required PPE consistently and correctly.
    • Comply with company policies and OSHA regulations.
