The Cost Accountant is to perform advanced cost-accounting work covering material and production costs, costs of sales, research and product development, etc. To compare actual costs to estimates and analyze variances. To develop standard cost data and accurate inventory valuations.

Essential Responsibilities

Analyzes and costs manufacturing work orders following company’s costing system.
Plans, studies, and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor using excel spreadsheets
Prepares the monthly cost of sales figures by analyzing material, labor, and research and development expenses. Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Assists the accounting manager in preparing monthly journal entries for cost of sales and scrap.
Maintains FIFO inventory system and follows established valuation method.
Assist with audits, both internal and external
Analyzes variances, process routine and ad hoc request, or any other requested assigned tasks
