    Cost Accountant

    Key Responsibilities for the Cost Accountant:


    • Analyze production, material, labor, and overhead costs to identify savings opportunities
    • Monitor job profitability, investigate cost variances, and report findings to management
    • Oversee inventory valuation, physical counts, aging analysis, and reserve calculations
    • Support month-end close activities, journal entries, and financial reporting
    • Develop and maintain costing processes, systems, and reporting tools
    • Partner with departments on forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and special projects

    Qualifications for the Cost Accountant:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
    • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
    • Strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis
    • Experience with month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ERP experience (SAP, Syspro, or similar preferred)
    • CPA or CMA designation preferred
