Cost Controller - Contract

Looking for a contract opportunity where you can step in, take ownership, and make an immediate impact? Our client is seeking two experienced Cost Controllers on a contract basis to provide critical visibility into project spending and help keep costs on track. These highly visible roles blend finance, analysis, and project cost management while partnering closely with operational and financial leaders. These positions are primarily remote with occasional in-office work and regular travel to project locations within Texas.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage project spending and actual costs
• Track costs against approved budgets and analyze variances
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and spending analyses
• Partner with project managers, finance, operations, and other stakeholders
• Review project-related expenses and supporting documentation
• Identify potential cost overruns and unusual spending trends
• Maintain accurate cost documentation and internal reporting
• Help improve cost-control processes and reporting

Requirements:

• Experience in cost control, cost management, project accounting, construction accounting, or a related finance position
• Construction or project-based industry experience strongly preferred
• Understanding of budgets, forecasts, actual costs, and variance analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a changing, fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel regularly to project sites within Texas
