Cost Engineer

GENERAL ROLES AND RESPOSIBILITIES (R&Rs)

The Cost Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project costs to ensure financial efficiency and compliance with budgets. This role supports project teams by providing accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects during planning and execution phases.

Develop and maintain cost control systems, budgets, and forecasts.

Monitor actual costs against budgets and report variances to stakeholders.

Perform cost trend analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Support procurement and contract teams with cost-related input.

Conduct cost risk assessments and value engineering exercises.

Prepare and present cost reports to project managers and senior leadership.

Evaluate cost impacts of scope changes and assist in change management processes.
