Cost Estimator II

An established electronics manufacturer serving the defense industry needs a Cost Estimator II to deliver timely, accurate bid packages in response to customer RFQs. You’ll report to the President and integrate labor engineering estimates with material and NRE costs.

Circuit card assembly (CCA) or box build experience preferred.

Local candidates within about a 40-minute commute of Chelmsford, MA. Relocation is not available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you’ll do:

• Review customer RFQs for completeness (statement of work, quantities, special instructions)
• Integrate labor engineering estimates and material costs; assist in determining material costs
• Formulate pricing from material, labor, and NRE costs using appropriate rates
• Compare estimated vs. actual cost on past production orders and update BOMs/data so quotes stay accurate
• Submit engineering-developed BOMs through internal quoting systems; work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Test, and Manufacturing
• Prepare customer letters requesting additional information or documentation clarification
• Support daily quoting/PID workflows while following company and OSHA safety guidelines

What you bring:

• 6+ years of relevant estimating or equivalent electronics industry experience
• Technical understanding of backplanes, CCAs, cables, harnesses, and box-build assembly (preferred)
• Experience reading electrical blueprints and specs
• Analytical skills to interpret customer requirements and build proposals that control cost and protect margin
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft Office

Pay: $70,000–$80,000. Full-time, on-site in Chelmsford, MA. Equal opportunity employer.
