Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Local or Travel | Day Shift | Two Locations located in Stockton, CA
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This position is available to local or travel clinicians and involves day shift work across two assigned locations. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, adaptable, and committed to helping individuals improve functional independence and quality of life.
Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the established plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Assist patients with therapeutic activities focused on improving daily living skills, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive function
Document patient progress, treatment outcomes, and daily notes accurately and in a timely manner
Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist
Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs
Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care
Travel between two assigned work locations as scheduled
Comply with all facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards

Employment Type: Local or Travel assignment
Locations: Two different facilities/clinical sites (travel between sites required)
Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the State of California
NBCOT certification in good standing
Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Ability to travel between two work locations reliably
Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Prior experience in a clinical, outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting
Experience working across multiple locations or in travel assignments
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Bilingual skills (a plus, not required)
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the workday
Ability to lift and transfer patients as required by job duties (with or without reasonable accommodation)
Must pass background check and employment verification
Must meet all California state and facility-specific health and immunization requirements
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required due to multiple locations)
