Local or Travel | Day Shift | Two Locations located in Stockton, CA

Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This position is available to local or travel clinicians and involves day shift work across two assigned locations. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, adaptable, and committed to helping individuals improve functional independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the established plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

  • Assist patients with therapeutic activities focused on improving daily living skills, mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive function

  • Document patient progress, treatment outcomes, and daily notes accurately and in a timely manner

  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and report changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist

  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic treatment environment

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care

  • Travel between two assigned work locations as scheduled

  • Comply with all facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards

  • Locations: Two different facilities/clinical sites (travel between sites required)

Requirements for Employment

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the State of California

  • NBCOT certification in good standing

  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)

  • Ability to travel between two work locations reliably

  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a clinical, outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting

  • Experience working across multiple locations or in travel assignments

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

  • Bilingual skills (a plus, not required)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist patients throughout the workday

  • Ability to lift and transfer patients as required by job duties (with or without reasonable accommodation)

Compliance & Additional Requirements

  • Must pass background check and employment verification

  • Must meet all California state and facility-specific health and immunization requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required due to multiple locations)
