    Job Description

    Driver - Courier Service and Pharmacy Deliveries

    Full-time, Part-Time or As Needed

    Provides courier service for hospital, pharmacies, nursing home and outlying clinics. Coordinates and organizes daily deliveries to ensure all customers receive accurate and timely delivery of their medications. Maintains safe driving techniques and abides by all traffic laws. Provides each customer with efficient, personalized, and friendly care. Represents the organization by showing compassion to each customer and respecting all privacy laws. Reports to the Retail Pharmacy Manager.

    Anticipated Schedule

    Shifts are 10am-6pm. Full-time is 4-5 shifts/week. Part-time is 2-3 shifts/week.

    • Required: Valid Iowa drivers license
    • Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent
    • Required: Ability to lift up to 50# frequently

    Essential Functions

    • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly delivery service by exhibiting care, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
    • Drives safely and adheres to all traffic laws and regulations.
    • Communicates effectively with other pharmacy team members to coordinate patient deliveries to meet the needs of our customers and long-term care facilities.
    • Encourages patients to call the pharmacy with any questions or concerns.
    • Pays attention to all delivery notes on prescriptions and follows directions accordingly.
    • Maintains HIPAA compliance and adheres to privacy practices for our patient protected health information.
    • Ensures no delivery is left unattended.
    • Assists with other duties as assigned.
