Job Details

Our client is a growing national provider of commercial restoration, reconstruction, renovation, roofing and capital-improvement services. The company serves commercial customers across healthcare, senior living, hospitality, multifamily, institutional, office and other markets.

We are seeking a **hands-on Director of Finance / CPA** to provide financial leadership across accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and operational stakeholders and will play an important role in strengthening the organization's financial infrastructure as the business continues to grow.

### What You'll Do

* Lead day-to-day accounting and finance activities
* Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
* Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
* Develop and manage annual budgets and periodic forecasts
* Prepare cash-flow forecasts and monitor working capital
* Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to leadership
* Develop and monitor financial KPIs and dashboards
* Partner with Operations to understand project and business-unit performance
* Oversee job-costing and project-level financial reporting
* Monitor margins, costs and profitability
* Support annual audits, tax compliance and banking relationships
* Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
* Evaluate and improve accounting and finance processes
* Assist with ERP, reporting and financial-system improvements
* Provide financial modeling and analysis for strategic business decisions
* Identify financial risks and opportunities
* Develop and mentor accounting/finance personnel
* Serve as a trusted financial partner to executive leadership

### What We're Looking For

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
* Active CPA strongly preferred
+ 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
* Prior management or leadership experience
* Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
* Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
* Strong Excel and financial-modeling capabilities
* Experience working with an ERP system
* Excellent communication and executive-level presentation skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when necessary

### Preferred Background

* Construction, restoration, roofing or other project-based industry
* Job-cost accounting
* WIP / percentage-of-completion accounting
* Multi-entity accounting
* Acumatica or another construction ERP
* Public accounting background
* CPA
* Experience in a growing or acquisitive organization
* Experience building or improving finance processes
* Experience partnering with executive leadership

### The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is more than a traditional accountant. They are a **finance business partner** who understands the numbers, can communicate what those numbers mean to the business, and is comfortable moving between accounting, FP&A, operations and executive-level decision-making.
