About the Opportunity:

Seeking a hands-on technology consultant to support the Charles River Development (CRD) platform, with a focus on infrastructure, middle-tier environments, platform stability, automation, and deployment. This is not a project management or Java development role; the consultant will work directly with the CRD platform and underlying infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Support CRD middle-tier infrastructure, including installations, upgrades, environment builds, application server configuration, batch/schedulers, connectivity, and troubleshooting.

• Stabilize and maintain CRD environments and investigate infrastructure-related issues.

• Support performance management, capacity planning, JVM/application tuning, and incident/problem management.

• Perform log- and metric-based troubleshooting and support root-cause analysis.

• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

• Use Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, including modules, remote state, and workspaces.

• Develop Python scripts and tools for automation, APIs, testing, and deployment.

• Work with Oracle platform architecture and understand how CRD interacts with Oracle and its associated servers/middle tiers.

Requirements:

• Strong Charles River Development (CRD) platform experience, specifically middle tier/infrastructure.

• Experience with CRD installations, upgrades, configuration, environments, scheduling, connectivity, and troubleshooting.

• Ansible - roles, playbooks, inventories, and idempotent configuration.

• CI/CD - Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

• Terraform - modules, remote state, and workspaces.

• Python - automation, APIs, scripting, packaging, and testing.

• Performance troubleshooting and infrastructure stabilization experience.

• Strong understanding of Oracle platform architecture and how CRD interacts with Oracle.

• Hands-on infrastructure experience; this is not primarily a Java development position.

Nice to Have:

• Linux administration.

• Networking fundamentals, including DNS, TLS, load balancers, and certificates.

• Docker/Kubernetes.

• Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, or Grafana.

• AWS or Azure experience.
