Credentialed Veterinary Technician

Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician (RVT)

We are looking for an Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our overnight and emergency patient care team.

We know experienced RVTs bring a high level of skill, judgment, and dedication to overnight emergency medicine, and we do not take that lightly. To recognize the value of that experience, this role is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000, along with a $2/hour shift differential for eligible shifts.

This role is a strong fit for a credentialed technician who enjoys emergency medicine, late-shift work, and hands-on patient care in a busy hospital environment. Our overnight technicians help keep patient care moving after hours and play an important role in supporting doctors, hospitalized patients, urgent cases, and continuity between shifts.

We offer flexible overnight scheduling. Shifts may start as early as 3:00 PM or as late as 9:00 PM, depending on hospital needs and candidate availability. We can consider 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, with a preference for 10-hour shifts when possible.

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Technician / RVT credential
• Emergency, urgent care, or high-volume hospital experience preferred
• Comfortable working overnight or late-shift hours
• Strong technical skills and sound clinical judgment
• Ability to stay calm, organized, and focused during urgent cases
• Clear communication with doctors, technicians, assistants, and support staff
• Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-care focused

Responsibilities

• Support overnight emergency patient care
• Assist doctors with treatments, diagnostics, monitoring, and urgent cases
• Help triage and prioritize patient needs during overnight hours
• Monitor hospitalized and emergency patients
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes
• Communicate patient updates clearly between overnight and daytime teams
• Support a clean, organized, and efficient treatment environment
• Work collaboratively with doctors and support staff to provide high-quality care

Rewards

• $28-$33 per hour, based on experience
• $2/hour shift differential
• Sign-on bonus up to $5,000
• Full-time and part-time options may be available
• Flexible overnight shift lengths: 8, 10, or 12 hours
• Opportunity to work in a multi-service hospital environment
• High technician utilization
• Exposure to emergency, GP, urgent care, surgery, internal medicine, and dental workflows

Why Join Us?

We are a strong fit for an RVT who wants to be fully utilized, not boxed into a narrow technician role. We value skilled technicians, trust them, and rely on them across multiple areas of patient care.

While this overnight ER role is distinct because of the schedule, our hospital environment offers exposure to more than one type of medicine. Our team supports emergency care, general practice, urgent care, surgery, internal medicine, and dentistry. We train our technicians to work flexibly across the hospital, so you can build confidence in different areas and stay engaged in the work you're doing.

If you enjoy using your skills, learning new things, and being part of a hospital that sees technicians as essential to patient care, you will have room to make an impact here.

This role may be a good fit if you want:

• Emergency and overnight case experience
• A hospital that values strong technician skills
• Exposure to multiple areas of medicine
• Flexible overnight shift options
• A $2/hour shift differential
• A sign-on bonus up to $5,000
• A team that can make room for strong technicians
• A role where your work directly supports patient care, doctor efficiency, and hospital flow

If you are an RVT who enjoys emergency medicine, overnight work, and being part of a team that relies on skilled technicians, we would like to connect with you!
