Job Title: Credit & Collections Analyst (Contract-to-Hire)

Job Description:
This role is focused on managing a dedicated portfolio of business-to-business customer accounts with an emphasis on collections activity and account resolution. The ideal candidate is comfortable making outbound calls daily, managing aging receivables, and maintaining strong follow-up discipline on overdue accounts. This position plays a key role in reducing outstanding balances and supporting overall cash flow improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of customer accounts, focusing on outstanding balances and collections activity
- Conduct regular outbound calls and email outreach to follow up on past-due invoices and ensure timely payment
- Analyze overdue accounts to identify root causes of non-payment and escalate issues when needed
- Work to reduce DSO by supporting timely resolution of outstanding receivables
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of collection efforts and customer interactions in the system of record
- Distribute monthly account statements to assigned customers
- Review orders placed on credit hold and assess associated risk factors
- Evaluate customer payment behavior to support credit limit decisions and hold releases
- Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, billing, and cash application to resolve disputes or deductions
- Set up structured payment arrangements for delinquent accounts in accordance with company guidelines
- Process credit card payments when applicable
- Build and maintain professional relationships with external customers while ensuring firm but respectful collections practices
Qualifications:
- 2–3+ years of B2B collections experience required
- Background managing a personal AR portfolio strongly preferred
- Experience working with aged receivables (90+ days)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office tools
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems preferred (Prophet 21 experience a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
Additional Details:
- Full-time, on-site role (5 days per week) in a structured office environment
- Role reports into leadership within the AR/collections function
- High-volume portfolio management with multiple accounts requiring consistent follow-up
