Job Details

Seeking an associate with 4+ years of experience to handle creditor-side matters in its bankruptcy and creditors’ rights group. The work is a mix of state court litigation, including foreclosures, replevins, evictions, and title and real estate disputes. This is a good fit for an attorney who wants to run their own cases and take depositions and hearings.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of creditor-side matters, working with shareholders as needed
• Handle foreclosure litigation, replevin actions, evictions, and title disputes
• Represent creditors in real estate and commercial landlord/tenant disputes
• Advise clients on remedies and on enforcing secured interests
• Spot legal issues early and build the case strategy
• Take and lead depositions, and argue at hearings, mediations, and conferences
• Draft pleadings, motions, and persuasive memoranda
• Keep clients, opposing counsel, and court staff informed and responsive

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, bankruptcy, or a related area
• Substantial state court litigation experience, ideally in foreclosure, replevin, or real estate disputes
• Admitted to the Florida Bar and the relevant federal district courts
• Strong academic record and clear written and verbal communication
• Sound judgment and the ability to work independently on competing deadlines
• Bankruptcy clerkship experience a plus
