Job Title: Chief Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chief Surveyor to lead and supervise a field survey crew on various assigned projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and construction layout surveys, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project requirements and company standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a field survey crew on assigned projects.
• Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, as-built, and construction layout surveys.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment including GPS, total stations, data collectors, and robotic instruments.
• Collect, verify, and document field data accurately.
• Coordinate daily activities, schedules, and site logistics for survey operations.
• Ensure all survey work is completed in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
• Review field notes and survey data for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicate with Project Managers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding project progress.
• Maintain survey vehicles, equipment, and supplies.
• Enforce company safety procedures and participate in jobsite safety meetings.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in surveying, topography, land surveying, boundary surveying, and topographic surveys.
• Experience with total station and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Ability to operate GPS, total stations, data collectors, and robotic instruments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Butler, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $79000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
