Position Highlights

• Position: Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP/PA)
• Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville, IL.
• Full time: 0.9 FTE
• Hours: Rotating days/nights: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
• Nights, weekends, and holidays required
• Inpatient role

• Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health in critical care at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL.
• Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides critical care to patients in the medical ICU.
• Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results.
• Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen.
• Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures.
• Follows patients through their course of treatment in the hospital setting.
• Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate.
• Demonstrates evidence-based practice.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty.
• Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum.
• Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health.
• Provide comprehensive health assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.
• Works autonomously and on interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants.
• Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promotes high-quality patient experiences.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals.
• Supports the strategic plan of the organization.
• Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• Education: Completion of master’s level program in specialty area
• Certification: BLS/CPR certification required, ACLS certification required
• Experience: Critical care experience as an APP preferred. Willing to consider new graduate ACNPs with prior critical care experience as an RN.
