Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Critical Care Float Pool experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

Required Skills/Experience

• Specific CVICU experience is not required.
• Vents, IV start, Tele, and conscious sedation required.
• Fresh post-open-heart experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Swan hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, vasoactive drips, and CRRT preferred.
• Triage, ICP, and PA lines preferred.

Required Credentials

• No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Special Requests

• You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details

• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Patient population includes acute stroke with TPA administration, acute respiratory failure, COVID-positive patients, pneumonia, and fresh post-open-heart patients.
• Unit context includes IABP/balloon pump, Impella, ECMO, IVP, and CRRT.

Shift & Scheduling

• BJC policy: Every other weekend is required, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation.

Floating Requirements

• Floats to multiple ICUs, including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID.
• If ICU needs are unavailable, the nurse is expected to float to inpatient floors as a staff nurse; the nurse may also float to non-critical-care units when ICU census is low, with a ratio of no more than 1:3, and may be asked to serve as a patient sitter if needed.

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
