Description of Service Opportunity:
Cambridge Rindge and Latin (CRLS) consists of four learning communities that support the vision of the Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) to provide all students with rigorous, joyful, and culturally responsive learning as well as the social, emotional, and academic supports each student needs to achieve their goals and post secondary success as engaged community members.
With this in mind, CRLS provides a Summer Preview Program (MPP) for CPS students, who have chosen to take an Honors or Advanced Placement class next school year and have also been identified as part of a population that has historically experienced racial and/or economic marginalization.
The MPP program at CRLS focuses on ensuring that students are provided a comprehensive experience that includes:
The primary objectives of the MPP experience are to
forge and cultivate strong relationships with peers and teachers.
build academic confidence in the specific subject area, with a hope of enhancing engagement and the joy
experienced in class during the school year.
Each class will focus on reviewing and reinforcing prerequisite skills as well as previewing the essential content specific skills that will promote a successful start to the school year. Incorporated throughout the course will be studentship skills - taking good notes, staying organized, time management skills, class participation, and self-advocacy skills. Teachers in this program are expected to employ differentiated instructional strategies for a vast array of academically, linguistically and culturally diverse learners.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Experience teaching in an urban, multi-cultural school system with inclusionary practices.
The contract amount shall not exceed $2,400.00 at the Site Coordinator - Summer School rate of $40.00 per hour for up to 60 hours.

Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a non-exempt employee and have worked more than 40 hours a week, you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours
