JOB DESCRIPTION | Sr. Automation Engineer
Job Title: Sr. Automation Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC / Chapel Hill, NC / Durham, NC
Duration: 8 months

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Experience with automating Linux OS and software patches and upgrades across multiple environments using automations tools like Ansible (7+ Years)
- Hands on Experience (like branching merging configuring and administering) with BitBucket or GIT Source Code Management Tool (3+ Years)
- Hands on experience in Automating build/deploy process including changes to database using tools like Ansible (7+ Years)
- Experience developing automation scripts operational utilities and workflow scripts using Python/Bash/Shell (7+ Years)
- Experience building and packaging applications with Docker and managing and scaling containerized workloads using Kubernetes (2+ Years)
- Experience in infrastructure provisioning configuration and environment management using Terraform and Ansible (4+ Years)
- Hands on experience developing and managing CI/CD (DevOps) pipeline using tools like Teamcity Jenkins Ansible (2+ Years)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
Strong knowledge and understanding of Amazon web Services and infrastructure (2+ Years)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary role is to lead Automation effort of infrastructure provisioning build and deploy activities for Client applications
- This position must demonstrate a solid understanding of AWS infrastructure and software release life cycle
- The role involves creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks troubleshooting automation issues ensuring consistent and reliable deployments across environments and collaborating with DevOps and application teams to enhance CI/CD workflows
- Strong knowledge of Linux Ansible Tower/AWX YAML automation best practices and infrastructure-as-code principles is required
- Experience with debugging deployments validating configurations and improving release reliability is a plus
- The position will work with IT management to improve the software engineering processes and practices associated with continuous integration and Continuous deployment (CI/CD) of application changes
- This position will interact with the architect’s developer’s deployment Team and Database Administrators to ensure automation of various tasks
- This position is required to be on call for evenings and weekends as required to meet business needs
