Pflugerville Independent School District - Job Description Job Title/Position: Crossing Guard (part time) Department/School: Various Campuses Pay Information: Auxiliary Compensation Plan Supervised By: Campus Principal FLSA: Non-Exempt Date Revised: January 2020 Primary Purpose: Provide students safety as they cross roadways to come and go from school. Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): Completion of sufficient education or training to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions. Major Responsibilities:

1. Direct and control student traffic, pedestrians or bicycles at designated school-crossing areas.
2. Report incidences of unsafe or reckless driving to building administrator.
3. Use and maintain designated crossing guard equipment provided b y the district; wear appropriate attire for weather conditions such as raincoat, gloves, etc.
4. Communicate professionally to students, parents, staff, and community.
5. Report to assigned area in timely manner and remain at post until students have utilized support.
6. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
7. Perform other duties as assigned. Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of traffic regulations. Knowledge of district rules and practices. Skill in effectively communicating with students. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands): Repetitive hand motions; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 lbs; exposure daily to possible adverse weather elements for extended periods of time.
