Job Description

PKT Enterprises is seeking a Community Residential Services (CRS) Director to supervise and develop a team of 3–4 Program Managers overseeing 7–8 community residential homes in the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area. This leadership role focuses on coaching managers, strengthening program quality, and ensuring safe, person-centered services and compliance with Minnesota 245D requirements.

Program Managers are responsible for daily home operations and direct supervision of Direct Support Professionals. The CRS Director provides teaching, guidance, accountability, and oversight to help managers lead effectively. Success in this role means building capable managers and ensuring programs consistently meet expectations.

The position is based at our Minneapolis corporate office, with regular travel to assigned homes. Structured training over multiple months and ongoing leadership support are provided.

Salary From $55,000-60,000

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 3–4 Program Managers in leadership, staff supervision, problem-solving, and program operations.
  • Oversee managers’ follow-through on staffing coverage, scheduling, staff development, and daily operational needs.
  • Monitor program quality and compliance with Minnesota 245D requirements, identify concerns, and ensure corrective action is completed.
  • Ensure required quarterly, annual, and other service documentation is accurate and completed on time.
  • Train and guide managers on documentation standards, person-centered practices, and service delivery expectations.
  • Oversee implementation and tracking of individual goals, meaningful activities, and community engagement.
  • Attend individual support team meetings and help managers prepare, communicate effectively, and follow through.
  • Support managers with medical and psychiatric care coordination, attending appointments when additional leadership involvement is needed.
  • Oversee household budgets and financial accountability.
  • Participate in a rotating Director on-call schedule to support Program Managers with decision-making and escalated concerns.

On-call and leadership expectations

Program Managers serve as the primary on-call contact for direct support staff. The CRS Director serves as the next level of support for managers, providing guidance, helping resolve escalated concerns, and determining when additional resources or leadership involvement are needed. Routine staff calls, scheduling, and daily operations remain the Program Manager’s responsibility.

PKT provides care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Situations may require Director involvement outside regular office hours or temporary hands-on assistance, including direct support, to maintain safety and continuity of care. These situations do not change the position’s primary focus: overseeing programs, developing managers, and ensuring appropriate follow-through. Directors are not routinely assigned to function as Program Managers.

Experience, education, and skills

Candidates should have experience in human services or residential services, including supervising staff, supporting program operations, and developing others. Experience coaching managers and knowledge of Minnesota 245D requirements, person-centered practices, and service documentation are valuable.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Clear communication and the ability to teach, coach, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Sound judgment when responding to concerns and supporting managers through difficult decisions.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through across multiple programs.
  • The ability to set clear expectations, address performance concerns, and hold managers accountable while supporting their growth.
  • A commitment to the rights, choices, safety, and well-being of the people receiving services.

Candidates must meet the education, training, and experience requirements applicable to their assigned responsibilities under Minnesota 245D. If serving as a designated manager, this includes the applicable education and training qualifications and at least three years of supervisory-level experience in a program providing care or education to vulnerable adults or children.
