    Summary Statement

    This class describes the entry level of registered nursing work. Positions at this level report to a technical supervisor.

    Essential Functions

    Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of every job duty for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.

    • Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.Â
    • Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans.Â
    • Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs.
    • Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.Â
    • Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms. Â
    • Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.

    Job Requirement Series

    JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse I

    Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

    • Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse II

    Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Â Â Â Â

    • Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing OR at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse.
    • Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse III

    Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

    • At least two years experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing.
    • Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.

    Additional Posting Information

    This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.

    Conditions of Hire

    All new hires are required to attend an in-person, statewide mandatory New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment. The session will be held at a designated location in either Kent or New Castle County.

    Pre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.

    Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.

    This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.
