    Job Title: CT Technologist

    Department: Radiology

    Location: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital

    Hours Per Week: 40

    Schedule: Days/Evening 8hr Shifts Friday - Monday

    SUMMARY:

    As a CT Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhances the overall success of imaging and the department as a whole.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Patient Care - Responsible for radiography of patients, including CT scans and Interventional CT-guided procedures; provide on-call coverage for the CT section of Radiology; follow up on patient care issues/needs.

    • Documentation - Maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and procedures; document performance of studies in patient charts.

    • Daily Maintenance - Assist with day-to-day supervision of the CT team; clean, restock, and prepare rooms.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Two year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.

    • NYS license in Radiologic Technology (or) must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment.

    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) within six months of employment.

    • Effective 7/16/2018 - NYS Injection Certification within six months of employment.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Prior Radiologic Technologist experience.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work in various software applications.

    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

    • Communication skills.

    R - Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - NYS Office of Professions

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

    For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

    The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
