The Role

We''re looking for an experienced Commercial Plumbing Estimator to help us bid and win the right projects. You''ll review drawings, perform detailed takeoffs, and build accurate, competitive estimates for commercial plumbing installations using industry-standard software. If you have 5 to 10 years of estimating experience and do your best work in a fast-paced environment, we''d like to hear from you.

What You''ll Do

• Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to identify piping materials, project-specific requirements, and deviations from standard practice.
• Perform detailed takeoffs using estimating software.
• Compile takeoffs and equipment summaries into complete project estimates.
• Obtain pricing on specialty materials and solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare and finalize proposals, bid forms, and cost breakouts.
• Build and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.
• Manage the bid calendar for takeoff scheduling and participate in departmental meetings.
• Flag any inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or the estimating database to your supervisor.

What You Bring

• 5 to 10 years of experience in commercial plumbing estimating.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Solid command of estimating techniques, cost control, and labor and material takeoffs.
• Familiarity with the MCAA labor units and estimating software such as Viewpoint Estimating or Trimble AutoBid.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and bid software.
• Broad knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems and equipment.
• Strong critical thinking and technical writing skills for drafting proposals.
• Clear, effective written and verbal communication.
• Leadership ability and comfort managing multiple priorities at once.
• A detail-oriented approach and a commitment to accuracy.

Work Environment

This is an office-based role involving extended periods of sitting and computer work.
