The Position

The Curriculum Coordinator supports the administration, implementation, and maintenance of the institution's academic curriculum processes. Reporting to the Executive Director of Academic Program Strategy & Development, this position collaborates with faculty, academic administrators, and staff to guide the preparation, submission, and approval of new and existing courses and academic programs.

In addition to ensuring that curriculum proposals align with institutional policies, academic standards, and state regulatory requirements, the coordinator applies specialized knowledge of offered or prospective programs, accreditation expectations, and industry-specific competencies. The curriculum coordinator facilitates assessment processes across academic courses and programs, supporting systematic, integrated, and sustainable evaluation practices.

The coordinator supports the effective operation of faculty governance and curriculum review processes and serves as a liaison between Academic Affairs and internal and external partners, including Enrollment Services, Early College programs, and high school partners. The Curriculum Coordinator manages the institution's curriculum management system, provides training and resources related to curriculum processes, and supports faculty and academic leadership throughout the curriculum proposal lifecycle.

This is an in-person position, candidates must be able to work full-time (5 days a week) at our Toms River location.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborates with faculty, school deans, and academic administrators to support the administrative development, revision, documentation, and implementation of new and existing courses and academic programs, with particular attention to emerging health-care programs, their requirements, accreditation expectations, and industry-aligned competencies.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the Curriculum Office, responding to inquiries from faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners regarding curriculum policies, procedures, timelines, and resources.
  • Provides guidance on course and program proposal processes, directing inquiries to the Executive Director when necessary and ensuring timely and accurate communication related to curriculum matters, especially those involving health care program standards and regulatory considerations.
  • Assists departments in preparing and submitting curriculum proposals and supporting documentation for institutional and state review and approval processes, incorporating research on workforce needs, licensure requirements, and evolving industry trends.
  • Provides guidance and resources to faculty and academic units regarding institutional curriculum policies, procedures, best practices, and submission timelines, including specialized support for health care program development and compliance.
  • Coordinates curriculum review workflows and ensures proposals progress through appropriate governance, institutional, and regulatory approval processes, with careful attention to state and professional requirements governing health care education.
  • Develops training materials and conducts workshops to support faculty engagement in curriculum development and curriculum proposal processes.
  • Collaborates with Enrollment Services, Early College, and academic leadership to support curriculum alignment and implementation related to dual enrollment and external academic partnerships.
  • Serves as administrator of the institution's curriculum management system, maintaining system functionality and supporting faculty and administrators in its use.
  • Maintains accurate curriculum records and documentation, supporting institutional reporting and catalog updates.
  • Coordinates the Colleges academic program review and learning outcomes assessment processes for credit and non-credit programs by managing timelines, maintaining documentation, supporting faculty-led assessment, and collaborating with the Executive Director to prepare institutional reports that support continuous improvement and planning.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned, including initiatives that advance the quality, compliance, and strategic growth of academic programs.

The Successful Candidate Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, education, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in higher education, academic administration, or curriculum support.
  • One year of prior supervisory, project/program management or team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development processes, academic governance, and institutional policies.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators.

Even Better If You Have

  • Masters Degree in higher education administration, education, public administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting curriculum proposal development, approval workflows, or accreditation processes.
  • Familiarity with curriculum management systems (e.g., CourseLeaf) or similar academic software platforms.
