Custodial Lead

Seiler Instrument is looking for a Custodial Lead to oversee and support the daily upkeep of our facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in problem-solving, values teamwork, and takes ownership of the job. The right candidate will have experience in custodial operations, and light repair work, with the ability to support a small team. Shift Time: 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM

Work Days: Monday-Friday

Location: St. Louis Missouri, On-site

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure daily operations and janitorial needs are met efficiently.
• Coordinate and delegate tasks to the maintenance and custodial team.
• Monitor facility needs for improvement and communicate concerns.
• May assist with minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Maintain the building's exterior, including occasional landscaping needs, snow removal, and general upkeep.
• Handle basic repairs such as painting, fixing light fixtures, and general handyman tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
• Support and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Work in varying seasonal conditions, indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Assist with inventory and ordering of necessary supplies.
• Communicate with management regarding facility needs and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, custodial operations, or a related role.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
• Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable standing for long periods and working in seasonal conditions.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Working knowledge of minor HVAC, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
