About the Role:

The Customer Engagement Specialist serves as the first point of contact for potential moving customers, helping them take the first steps in planning their move. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys talking with people, asking thoughtful questions, and helping customers navigate what can be a stressful time. You'll work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment where strong communication, customer service, and the ability to overcome objections are important to success.

  • Handle inbound and outbound calls and electronic leads from potential moving customers
  • Gather key information about customers' moving needs and determine appropriate next steps
  • Schedule survey appointments and coordinate requests for moving quotes with customers, agents, and surveyors
  • Guide customers through the initial moving process and clearly explain what they can expect next
  • Introduce customers to available services and identify interest in additional service options
  • Provide preliminary estimates for core moving services when appropriate
  • Help customers work through questions or concerns and overcome objections related to the moving and survey process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records
  • Connect customers with appropriate resources for needs outside the scope of the Customer Engagement team
  • Work toward established individual and team performance goals
  • Escalate complex customer or system issues to supervisors as needed
  • Provide weekend and holiday support based on department scheduling needs

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of related experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Customer service, call center, or sales experience
  • Experience handling inbound and/or outbound customer calls
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to build rapport and make customers feel comfortable
  • Confidence working through customer questions and objections
  • Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Comfortable learning established processes and customer qualification requirements

How You'll Be Successful:

  • Customer-focused and genuinely interested in helping people
  • Strong communicators who can quickly build trust and rapport
  • High-energy, motivated, and goal-oriented
  • Comfortable asking questions and learning from feedback
  • Confident working through objections and customer concerns
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage their time effectively
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new responsibilities
  • Collaborative while still comfortable working independently
