Overview
Local Eclectic is a Chicago-based fine jewelry company operating five proprietary brands (Family Gold, For You With Love, Harvest Moon, Carried Jewels, Period Piece), with wholesale partnerships including Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and Free People. We have now expanded beyond e-commerce with a flagship retail store and café opening at 212 E. Ontario in downtown Chicago — adding an in-person, high-touch dimension to a highly engaged, authentic customer base.

Role Description
Local Eclectic is hiring several part-time Customer Experience Associates to give customers personalized support over email and live chat. Customer service associates will also handle order and inventory tasks for returns and warranty claims which might include shipping and fulfillment. Associates will also routinely share customer feedback on products and processes with the wider team so we can keep improving. This role has variable hours that follow our seasonal volume, with more hours during peak periods such as holidays and launches and fewer during slower stretches. It suits people who want part-time work with a variable schedule. This position is in person at our flagship location at 212 East Ontario. This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries by email and live chat in Local Eclectic’s brand voice
• Process returns, exchanges, and warranty claims from start to finish
• Update order and inventory records accurately across our operational platforms
• Resolve routine issues on your own and escalate complex ones to the team
• Report recurring customer feedback on products and processes
• Team members will be measured against weekly productivity and quality benchmarks

Qualifications

• Availability: Flexible part-time schedule, typically 10-29 hours per week, varying with business needs. Shifts fall between 8am and 6pm, Monday through Friday. Must be able to work onsite at our Chicago Streeterville location for scheduled shifts. Weekend availability is required during peak periods, including Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
• Excellent written communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proven ability to independently problem solve and navigate complex customer issues
• Sound judgment: you know when to resolve an issue yourself and when to escalate it
• Comfortable learning new software quickly
• Experience with Gorgias, Shopify, Logiwa, or Redo is a strong plus
• Passion for jewelry is a plus
