About the Role:Vermont Slate Company LLC is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Customer Operations & Sales Support Specialist to join our team in Savannah, GA. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our customer experience — managing purchasing workflows, supporting our sales team, and ensuring every order runs smoothly from start to finish. Responsibilities:Purchasing & Vendor Management- Create, track, and follow up on purchase orders.
- Coordinate with quarries, suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Monitor product availability and supply commitments.
- Support inventory planning and replenishment decisions.
- Manage open purchase orders and overdue commitments.
- Escalate supply risks, shortages, delays, and quality issues.
- Support vendor performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help negotiate and optimize purchasing quantities, delivery schedules, and operating conditions within approved guidelines.
Customer Operations & Sales Support- Support assigned sales representatives and their customers.
- Create and maintain quotations, sales orders, and related documentation.
- Monitor order status and coordinate order execution through delivery.
- Communicate order updates, risks, and required actions.
- Maintain accurate SAP and Salesforce data.
Requirements:- 2+ years of purchasing/procurement roles
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with CRM, ERP, or order management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Salesforce, or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in building materials, construction, or specialty products industries is a plus
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a customer-first attitude
