This company operates in a specialized building materials sector, serving a broad customer base through an established logistics and distribution network. They are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join their team in a front-line, customer-facing capacity that is essential to the daily operation of their order fulfillment process.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Customer Service Representative will serve as a primary point of contact for customers, internal team members, and third-party logistics partners to ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders across the company’s distribution network. This role is responsible for order entry and processing, carrier coordination, and maintaining professional communication with all parties involved in the order lifecycle. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities, and the organizational discipline to handle a high volume of daily activity with minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Accurately enter and process customer orders into the company’s ERP system, ensuring all information is complete and compliant with customer requirements
• Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and carriers to schedule and route pickup and delivery of orders to customer locations throughout the Southeast
• Serve as a professional, courteous point of contact for customers, carriers, and internal personnel throughout the order fulfillment process
• Compile and verify order data from various sources to ensure billing accuracy and timely invoicing
• Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates, delays, or changes to customers and internal stakeholders
• Maintain organized records and documentation in support of order processing and compliance requirements
• Support the customer service team with additional duties and assignments as directed by leadership
REQUIREMENTS• High school diploma or equivalent required — trade or vocational training in administrative, office, or bookkeeping fields is a plus
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of work experience in customer service, order processing, or logistics fulfillment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and customer-focused demeanor
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — accuracy in order entry and data management is essential in this role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Comfortable working with ERP or order management systems — prior experience with Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms is a meaningful advantage
• Ability to handle repetitive computer-based tasks and maintain accuracy across a high volume of daily transactions
