Purpose of Position:
Responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales support to customers. Is liaison between customers and the sales, manufacturing, accounting, and planning groups to resolve all customer requests including order status, delivery projections, product returns, and billing questions.
Major Responsibilities:
- Processes customer orders, coordinates responses to order-change requests, and provides customers with timely order confirmations and open-order status updates.
- Issues product return authorizations, coordinates warranty-claim reviews with the Quality team and facilitates the timely completion of repairs.
- Partners with customers to understand their logistics requirements and recommends solutions aligned with plant capabilities and guidance.
- Collaborates with the Forecasting team to communicate customer order activity and revenue status.
- Resolves customer and commercial issues through effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Directs sales inquiries to the appropriate commercial owner for timely follow-up.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with customer procurement teams, positioning Corning as a responsive and reliable supplier.
- Partners with customers and internal stakeholders to address payment delinquencies and support timely resolution.
- Provides ongoing customer support and participates in customer negotiations to resolve issues and achieve mutually acceptable outcomes.
- Ensures the timely and accurate processing of customer orders, responses, and reports.
- Solicits and responds to formal and informal customer feedback to support service quality and continuous improvement.
Job Specifications – Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Associates Degree or 5+ years of experience in Customer Service or similar field
Desired: Bachelors Degree
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working in a similar field
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviors:
Required:
- Knowledge of manufacturing fundamentals
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word
- Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate difficult or sensitive information with professionalism, diplomacy, and appropriate follow-up

The range for this position is $39,880.00 - $54,835.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
