Customer Service Representative / Estimator

Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Schedule: M-F, Full-Time, On Site
Compensation: $55,000 - $70,000

The Customer Service Representative / Estimator serves as a key liaison between customers and internal departments, ensuring projects move efficiently from quote to completion. This role combines customer service, estimating, quoting, account management, and project coordination responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivering exceptional customer support.

Responsibilities

Estimating, Quoting & Account Management

• 
  
• Prepare and submit customer quotes and pricing information.
• 
  
• Coordinate new and ongoing projects from approval through completion.
• 
  
• Serve as a primary point of contact between customers and internal departments.
• 
  
• Track project timelines, approvals, specifications, and customer requirements.
• 
  
• Manage repeat orders and communicate production timelines.
• 
  
• Maintain and update customer, product, and inventory information within company systems.
• 
  
• Assist with pricing calculations and estimate preparation.
• 
  

Customer Service

• 
  
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, orders, pricing, and order status.
• 
  
• Provide professional support via phone and email.
• 
  
• Resolve customer concerns and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• 
  
• Collaborate with production, planning, quality, and logistics teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
• 
  
• Document customer interactions and maintain accurate records.
• 
  
• Communicate recurring customer needs and process improvement opportunities to management.
• 
  

Qualifications

Required

• 
  
• Previous customer service experience in a professional business environment.
• 
  
• Estimating, quoting, account management, or inside sales experience.
• 
  
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• 
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• 
  
• Experience using CRM, ERP, or other business software systems.
• 
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• 
  

Preferred

• 
  
• Associate degree or higher in Business, Communications, or a related field.

• Packaging, manufacturing, or industrial industry experience.

• Experience with ERP systems.

• Advanced Excel skills.
