Position summary:
Provides customer service and administrative support by managing high-volume phone and walk-in inquiries, processing applications and permits, verifying documentation, maintaining databases, issuing receipts and equipment, coordinating with field staff, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping and permit system management.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Heavy telephone and walk-in customer contacts consisting of small tap applications and fire hydrant use permits.
  • Verifying required documents, completing various forms.
  • Providing customer with various documents and information; accepting checks and money order payments.
  • Issuing various receipts and equipment, entering information into various databases.
  • Management of fire hydrant use permit system; maintaining database; see that equipment is issued, inspected and returned as required.
  • Heavy telephone and walk-in customer contacts requesting tap location information; accurately obtaining information; documenting requests.
  • Contacts with field staff on radio as required.
  • Answer office telephone.
  • Other duties as assigned.
