ROLE DESCRIPTION:Patel Insurance Agency is seeking a proactive, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our growing team in Brooklyn, OH. In this role, you’ll support existing customers with their insurance needs while identifying opportunities to strengthen their coverage.
Working with an established book of approximately 3,400 households, you’ll handle service requests, build relationships, and conduct needs-based conversations about additional protection. This position combines customer service and sales, with opportunities to earn commissions by helping existing customers add appropriate coverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Handle incoming customer service calls, representing approximately 70% of your time.
- Assist customers with billing questions, policy changes, and initiating claims.
- Identify coverage gaps during everyday service conversations.
- Conduct needs-based reviews with existing customers and recommend appropriate insurance and financial products, including whole life, term life, universal life, short- and long-term disability, umbrella, home, auto, and retirement solutions.
- Help existing auto and home insurance customers explore life, disability, and other coverage options.
- Build strong customer relationships through attentive service and consistent follow-through.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience in customer service, sales, banking, retail, or hospitality preferred; insurance experience is a plus but is not required.
- Strong communication skills and an interest in having meaningful conversations with customers.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to follow through with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable combining customer service with sales and earning commissions by expanding coverage within an existing customer base.
- Able and willing to obtain the required Ohio Property, Casualty, Life, and Health insurance licenses.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:- $40,000 annual base salary plus commission.
- Typical first-year commission earnings of approximately $15,000, for approximately $55,000 in total annual compensation.
- Top performers earn up to $25,000 in commission, for approximately $65,000 in total annual compensation.
- Agency-paid pre-licensing classes and exam fees.
- $1,000 bonus for each qualifying license obtained before starting full-time, up to $4,000 for Life, Health, Property, and Casualty.
- Future sponsorship for securities licensing to expand into variable products.

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:- Full-time, salaried position based in Brooklyn, OH.
LICENSING:Not licensed yet? We cover your pre-licensing classes and exam fees. You will have 60 days after signing your offer letter to complete the required licensing classes and exams before beginning full-time work in our office. Qualifying licensing bonuses are paid when you begin full-time employment.
