Made-to-Order Sales Associate - DeLallo Italian Marketplace

DeLallo Italian Marketplace is excited to announce the grand opening of our new Made-to-Order Department, and we are looking for friendly, energetic, customer-focused Made-to-Order Sales Associates to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, talking about great food, and helping customers select fresh, high-quality Italian marketplace items in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.

Position Summary

Made-to-Order Sales Associates will work in our new made-to-order area, assisting customers with menu selections, answering questions, taking orders, helping present products, and creating a welcoming customer experience.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, dependable, professional, and comfortable engaging with customers. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys food, customer service, sales, and being part of a new and exciting department.

Schedule

Made-to-Order Sales Associate positions may be available as full-time or part-time. All positions require weekend availability.

To meet business needs, some employees may be required to come in early to help prepare the store for opening. Shifts may begin at 5:00 AM or earlier, based on department needs.

Major holidays are off with pay.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner

Assist customers with made-to-order menu selections and product questions

Take customer orders accurately and communicate order details clearly

Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced food service environment

Use product knowledge to recommend items and help customers make selections

Help maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked service areas

Package, label, and present made-to-order items according to department standards

Support the made-to-order team during busy periods

Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Communicate customer needs, product questions, or service concerns to management

Support grocery, kitchen, deli, bakery, and marketplace departments as needed

Qualifications

Previous customer service, retail, grocery, food service, restaurant, deli, bakery, or sales experience is helpful but not required

Friendly, outgoing, and customer-focused personality

Strong communication skills

Ability to talk with customers and make helpful product recommendations

Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail when taking and communicating orders

Interest in Italian foods, specialty foods, and high-quality customer service

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active throughout the shift

Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures

Weekend availability is required
