CVOR Tech 3 (Tier 3)

A Kansas City, MO hospital with 585+ beds, a Level I Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center, and a Chest Pain Center is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist III for its cardiovascular operating room team.

The role. The Surgical Technologist III works alongside the OR team to deliver hands-on support throughout cardiovascular and endovascular/hybrid operating room procedures. In the first scrub role, this technologist manages the instruments, supplies, and equipment required during surgery, maintains the sterile field, and anticipates the surgeon's needs throughout the operative procedure. When serving in the second scrub role, responsibilities include sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors, and manipulating the endoscopic camera to assist the surgeon and surgical assistant. The position requires the ability to perform as lead in multiple specialty areas, including robotic, total joints, neuro/spine, burn, and vascular surgery. The technologist provides care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

What we're looking for.

• 7 years of CVOR and endovascular/hybrid operating room tech experience required
• Must be competent to perform as lead in all of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn and Vascular Surgery
• Two years prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided
• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Schedule. Days with rotating weekends; 40-hour work week with an on-call requirement.
