Cyber Engineer Sr. Principal (On-site)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Engineer Sr. Principalto lead the design and implementation of a modern hybrid and multi-cloud network environment. This position will support AWS, Azure, OCI, and private cloud environments, including FedRAMP-authorized cloud offerings, using Cisco SD-WAN as the strategic connectivity platform.

The ideal candidate will combine deep enterprise networking expertise with strong presentation and communication skills. This individual must be able to explain complex architectural strategies, demonstrate their business value, and effectively present and defend proposed solutions to technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

• Design and implement secure, scalable hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures across AWS, Azure, OCI, and private cloud environments.
• Lead the integration of Cisco SD-WAN across data centers, branch locations, and cloud environments.
• Design cloud and private connectivity solutions, including backbone routing, private circuits, VPNs, peering, and SD-WAN cloud on-ramps.
• Drive multi-cloud network planning, governance, lifecycle management, and CMMC compliance.
• Develop network security strategies using segmentation, private endpoints, cloud-native controls, encryption, and identity-aware access.
• Architect and maintain Cisco ACI fabrics, including tenant design, contracts, service graphs, multipod, and multisite environments.
• Design Layer 2 extension solutions across data centers and cloud platforms.
• Modernize data center networks through spine-leaf architectures, intent-based networking, and high-availability design.
• Establish segmentation strategies across Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, firewalls, and cloud network security groups.
• Design load-balancing solutions using A10, AVI/NSX ALB, or cloud-native load balancers.
• Develop automation using Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Improve network visibility using multi-cloud telemetry, flow logs, SD-WAN analytics, and SolarWinds.
• Design and optimize routing using BGP, OSPF, and EVPN.
• Optimize WAN architecture, QoS, traffic engineering, and application performance.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex hybrid and multi-cloud network issues.
• Develop network standards, reference architectures, and reusable design patterns.
• Support the adoption of Zero Trust, micro-segmentation, and identity-based access principles.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Security, and Infrastructure teams on modernization initiatives.

Required qualifications:

• At least eight years of enterprise networking experience, with extensive hybrid and multi-cloud architecture knowledge.
• Hands-on experience designing network architectures across AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Expertise in Cisco SD-WAN, including vManage, vBond, vSmart, templates, and policy design.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, cloud routing, backbone connectivity, peering, and transit architectures.
• Experience implementing hybrid connectivity through private circuits, cloud backbones, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
• Experience with cloud-native firewalls, segmentation, encryption, and identity-aware access.
• Experience designing highly available and fault-tolerant architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust frameworks.
• Experience with SolarWinds or a comparable network-monitoring platform.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to present architectural recommendations and business value to both technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to work effectively across distributed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• CCNP, Cisco SD-WAN Specialist, or relevant cloud networking certification.
• Experience with SASE solutions and cloud firewall or NVA deployments.
• Experience supporting cloud modernization and migration programs.
• Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud DNS architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD automation pipelines for network deployments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes networking across cloud providers.

Education and experience:

• High school diploma with at least 14 years of relevant experience
• Associate degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience
• Master’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience
• Ph.D. with at least 6 years of relevant experience
