We’re seeking a passionate and experienced engineer to support our Cyber Intel team in Laurel, MD, where you'll play a key role in delivering advanced Cyber Security and Data Management solutions for the Intelligence Community.

In this role, you’ll work on cutting-edge challenges that directly impact national security—designing secure systems, strengthening mission resilience, and driving innovation in a highly collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy advanced software security capabilities aligned with technical reference architectures

  • Perform ongoing security testing and code reviews to continually enhance the security posture of mission-critical systems

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues across diverse software environments

  • Develop engineering designs and new software solutions that proactively address emerging security threats

  • Contribute to architecture decisions and maintain clear, thorough technical documentation

  • Collaborate with team members and mentor others on secure coding and best practices

  • Stay current with new technologies, tools, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
  • Twenty (20) years’ experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree-Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects
  • A minimum six (6) years demonstrated experience out of the most recent 8 years developing production-Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful Service-Familiarity with cloud development techniques, resources, and tools.

 

Core Competencies and Skills:

 

  • Experience in agile software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution, and source code management practices & tools.
  • Experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++ for distributed systems, with proficiency in networking, multi-threading and implementation of REST APIs
  • Experience with the Spring framework, messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ), streaming analytics (Apache Flink, Spark), management of containerized applications (Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Enabling tools (Git, Maven, Jira), DevOps (Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab Cl/Pipelines), Continuous Monitoring (ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana), Nagios)
  • Experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Accumulo and Apache NiFi
  • Well-grounded in Linux fundamentals and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl, BASH, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS Cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Cloud security, and Automation (AWS Lambda, CloudFormation)

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
