Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to support the design, operation, and continuous improvement of a high-performance data center environment that powers a global securities trading business. This role combines both hands-on operational responsibilities and infrastructure design work in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment with strong organizational support.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in critical facilities design and operations (data centers preferred)
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills
  • Deep understanding of data center systems and infrastructure
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering and operational documentation
  • Project and vendor management experience
  • Hands-on operational experience in modern data centers
  • Electrical Power Distribution
  • Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS)
  • Diesel Emergency Power Systems
  • Direct Expansion and Centrifugal Cooling Systems
  • Cooling Towers, Pumps, and Water Distribution
  • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
  • Building Management Systems / Distributed Control Systems (especially ALC)
  • Hydronic Systems, Valves, Flow Control Devices, Sensors
  • Motor Controls and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Chemical Water Treatment
  • Fire Detection and Suppression Systems
Bonus/Soft Skills:
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • High level of independence and accountability
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Lead and/or participate in data center infrastructure design and modifications:
  • Perform capacity planning for power, cooling, and whitespace buildouts
  • Manage projects and coordinate with vendors
  • Conduct cooling and electrical calculations (single and 3-phase circuits)
  • Analyze Client data and trends for troubleshooting and diagnostics Serve as on-call site responder for critical after-hours incidents
  • Operate and maintain data center infrastructure systems: Power, cooling, security, and Client
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities using CMMS
